Special Needs

Our projects are designed to be challenging, edifying, fun and always beautiful. HourGlass Activities are based on layering and gluing different shapes in a collage-type manor. They don't rely on a special talent or skill and this allows for everyone feel comfortable being creative.

Our low vision participants express great satisfaction in being able to express their creativity and be successful in ways they no longer can with traditional art activities.

HourGlass Activities helps sufferers of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias to express themselves after losing the ability to communicate with words.

Seniors suffering with poor hand-eye coordination or tremors are some of our most grateful participants. They have remarkable determination and appreciate being given the opportunity to use their hands in such a productive and rewarding way.
